University Projects

When I tell people I am still at University the general response is that of confusion. This is because in the past I have not exactly valued the process of education and refused to associate myself as being a student.

I’ve always been a practical person and that won’t change, it’s great to know the theory behind things but actually putting your skills into practice is what gives me fulfilment.

Saying that, my university experience so far has been fantastic. The people you meet, the facilities and learning environment is really beneficial.

Here are a few pieces of work I am most proud of during my time studying Media and Journalism BA (Hons) at Northumbria University.

Magazine ‘Top Ten Page’

The brief for this assignment was to create a ‘top ten’ for a magazine of your choice. Naturally I chose FourFourTwo magazine and went for the ‘Top 10 EU Wonderkids’.

Documentary film – ‘Arches’

A group assignment in which my role was DoP (Director of Photography). We made our film on the local street art and DJ workshops in Gateshead. We were required to source our our interviewees, hire equipment from university stores and go through the normal documentary filmmaking process.
