One of the things I’m very proud of is my internship with BT Sport. I record match highlights and conduct post match interviews with York City FC.

I will turn up on a match day normally 2 hours before kickoff, collect my complementary ticket and programme, then head to the other side of the stadium equipment in hand. York’s stadium is really old and we film from a gantry on top of one of the stands.

It is accessed by climbing through a hole in the wall and then up some dodgy ladders which is a great adventure to be honest.

Walking up to the gantry is like the stairway to heaven, it’s definitely the best view of the stadium and you can see everything – even the York Minster.

Me and my colleague will then film a half each of the game, which normally ends in a York City defeat; pretty standard this season. We will then rush back down the tunnel where we will interview both team’s managers and following this will edit and send all the footage through to BT Sport.

If you want to watch The Non League Highlights Show you can do below. York City are on at 8:30.

Granted, York City are currently bottom of the National League, however they are my hometown team and I have watched them since I was a kid. So you can imagine working for them is a dream come true.

It’s a bit surreal walking through the players tunnel and greeting the players as I tip toe past them. You hear all the behind the scenes; players arguing, managers team talks and not to mention the abysmal music taste of some players!

The people involved at the club are great and I feel so lucky and privileged to be in the position I am.
